Envy Scooters is proud to have sponsored the Oceania Scooter Continental Championship 2024 which was recently held in local beachside town, Napier, New Zealand. From 22-23 March 2024, ociena scooter riders came together to battle it out at Bay Skate.

With the aim to grow the sport in New Zealand, the competition boasted riders from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. It also attracted Kiwi spectators from across the country. The competition’s been named a huge success and is a massive step towards the sport of professional scootering reaching more and more people.

Niam from Freestyle Roller Sports New Zealand says that Envy Scooters’ “support and the presence of [the] team… has left a mark on the New Zealand Scooter Scene”.

Envy riders Will Scott, Jack Churchward, Charlie Stamp, Saxon Mathers, Jake Harrop and Jordan Chann, who competed at the Napier championship, first landed in Auckland to attend Jordan’s Just Scootering night, which was “sick”, Will describes. “We all had a really good time.”

‘Just Scootering is New Zealand’s first scootering academy, providing lessons to beginners, intermediates and professionals alike’

Will talks further about the event.

“Jordan sees these boys regularly, but I guess for Charlie, Jack, and I, it was a new experience and we actually really enjoyed ourselves and had fun at the skate park”

“It was good with all the younger kids too” Jack adds.

After attending the Just Scootering night, the Envy “boy band” arrived in Napier to kick off with practice day, observing many likeminded pro scooter-junkies hit the skatepark and land some standout tricks such as the ‘whip buttercup’ and ‘briflip to bar’.

It must be noted how extremely well the Envy Scooters riders represented the brand, especially considering this was the first time any of them had ridden at the venue before.

Some of the most notable performances of the Envy riders include New Zealand local, Jordan Chann, who competed in the Mens Street Pro division. He went through to the finals and placed 3rd. Special mention also to Jake Harrop who, at only 14 years old, competed in the Under 17s Mens. Out of the 21 competitors he made it through to the finals (top 8) but had an unfortunate crash in both his runs.

Well done to all the riding competitors in the event whose efforts and passion to the sport is so evidently seen. Envy Scooters is incredibly proud to have played an integral role into making this all happen.
